What is the ruling on melodiously reciting the Quran and following it with the word "Allah"?

Chanting the Qur’an is permissible and recommended by Sharia, due to the prophetic traditions reported in this regard, such as: "He is not of us who does not chant the Qur’an" and "Adorn the Qur’an with your voices." This is also supported by the Prophet's (peace be upon him) approval of Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari’s chanting of the Qur’an. However, chanting should not go to the extent of resembling musical tunes, as this was disliked by the Salaf.

As for saying "Allah" after the reciter finishes, this is not from the guidance of the Salaf and is considered a lack of reverence for the Qur’an. A Muslim is required to listen attentively and reflect when the Qur’an is recited, as Allah Almighty says: "And when the Qur’an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy."
