What is the ruling on a husband and wife, whose marriage contract has been concluded but consummation has not yet occurred, meeting in a secluded place away from people's eyes, such as a forest or a car, for the sole purpose of enjoying kissing and embracing? And what is the ruling on not completing the six days of fasting in Shawwal due to the spouses meeting?

There is no harm for the spouses after the valid marriage contract in practicing any form of permissible enjoyment, while observing the custom regarding consummation. As for breaking a voluntary fast, some scholars are of the opinion that it is obligatory to complete it, but the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The person observing a voluntary fast is the master of himself; if he wishes, he fasts, and if he wishes, he breaks his fast." Therefore, there is no make-up (qada') or sin upon the questioner. Ibn Qudamah narrated from Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas that they broke their voluntary fast without making it up. Al-Nakha'i, Abu Hanifa, and Malik are of the opinion that a voluntary fast becomes binding upon commencing it, and that whoever breaks it without an excuse must make it up.
