What is the ruling on a male doctor attending the birth of a Muslim woman when a female doctor is present?

The default is for women to be treated by female doctors and not to go to male doctors except out of necessity, to protect them from the sight and unlawful touch of men, unless it is absolutely necessary. There is no harm in consulting a doctor remotely without the woman being seen or touched. If direct treatment becomes necessary, it should be limited to the extent of the need, without seclusion, and without touching or looking at what is not required.
