What is the meaning of the word “ghamr” and what is intended by the aforementioned hadith: "– Whoever sleeps while there is ghamar on his hand, and something befalls him, let him blame no one but himself."?

This Hadith was narrated by Abu Dawud, Al-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah from Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, with the wording: «Whoever spends the night with the smell of ghamar on his hand, and something afflicts him, let him blame no one but himself.» The wording of Ibn Hibban is similar. Ghamar refers to the smell of meat, or its grease, or its dirt. The meaning of «and something afflicts him» is that he is harmed by insects or jinn due to the smell of food on his hand, or by leprosy and the like. And «let him blame no one but himself» because he was negligent. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar believes that the Hadith indicates the desirability of washing hands to remove the smell after eating.
