What is the ruling on a treacherous husband who swears frequently, and is it permissible for him to take his wife's jewelry and sell it to spend on his pleasures? And does the wife have the right to prevent him from doing so?

Betrayal is forbidden by Islamic law and condemned by nature. Allah does not love traitors. If the intended meaning of betrayal is adultery, then it is a heinous crime that requires evidence for its proof; otherwise, it would be a forbidden accusation. A Muslim should not excessively swear by Allah, as it indicates the swearer's recklessness. Swearing falsely while knowing it is a lie is a "yamin ghamoos" (an oath that immerses its taker in sin or in Hellfire), and it is among the major sins from which one must repent. It is not permissible for a husband to take anything from his wife's possessions (such as her jewelry) except with her consent and her willingness, for she has her independent financial responsibility and the right to dispose of what she owns.
