It is not permissible to accuse the mother of treachery based on the father's statement without conclusive evidence, for the sanctity of a Muslim's honor is great and intensifies in the case of the mother. Even if this accusation is proven with certainty, it is not permissible to sever ties with the mother or abandon her, for honoring the mother, maintaining ties with her, and being kind to her is obligatory in all circumstances. It is not permissible for the father to prevent his children from maintaining ties with their mother and honoring her, and it is not permissible to obey him in that regard. It is possible to maintain ties with the mother and honor her secretly without the father's knowledge, and if the father asks, one can speak indirectly and use مداراة (strategic evasiveness), and it may even be permissible to lie to him if there is no other way to avoid his anger.
