What is the wisdom and miraculousness in the obligation of the prayer for the deceased?

The funeral prayer (Salat al-Janazah) is a communal obligation (fard kifaya), and its purpose is to supplicate for the deceased and seek forgiveness for them. An exception to this is the martyr of battle (shaheed al-ma’rakah), over whom the funeral prayer is not performed according to the majority of scholars, because he is alive as explicitly stated in the Quran. It is obligatory to submit and surrender to the legal ruling, even if its wisdom is not known. Indeed, the prohibition and command of the Prophet are the [ultimate] reason for the believer.
