What is the ruling on the phrase "I alone reached glory"?
Allah is the Creator and Disposer of the universe alone, and a person's Tawheed al-Rububiyyah (Oneness of Lordship) is not realized except by believing this.
If a Muslim says such a phrase as "I reached where I am through my own efforts," it is unlikely that he means he achieved it without Allah's will and success. Therefore, his words should be interpreted in the best possible light. If he means that he achieved his glory and honor by himself, without assistance or reliance on others, then there is no harm in it if he is truthful. This is known as "self-made glory."
