The emission of semen (manī) in a waking state is caused by arousal and is discharged with a gush at the peak of desire, followed by a state of relaxation. For women, it is a thin, yellowish or white fluid. As for pre-seminal fluid (madhī), it can be discharged without perception during minor arousal. It is a thin, sticky, clear, white fluid that is not discharged with a gush and is not followed by a state of relaxation. Relaxation is the state of ease after intensity and stillness after activity. It is well-known that after the emission of semen, desire subsides.
