There are two issues regarding vaginal discharge: The first is its purity or impurity. The preponderant view is that it is pure, as there is no evidence for its impurity, unlike madhy (pre-seminal fluid) for which there is evidence of its impurity. The second issue is whether it nullifies ablution (wudu') or not. The preponderant view among the majority of scholars is that it does nullify ablution. If the emission of this discharge is continuous, then the afflicted woman is considered to be in a state of perpetual ritual impurity (da'im al-hadath), and she should perform ablution for each prayer after its time has begun. However, if this is not the case, then its emission nullifies ablution. If a woman doubts whether anything has been discharged, she is not required to investigate, and she should act upon the original presumption, which is the validity of her purity.
