Dreams do not form the basis for a legal ruling. If a vision is righteous, it is from Allah, and if it is otherwise, it is from Satan. The one who has the dream should do what the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, guided to: seek refuge with Allah and spit to his left. It is obligatory to seek forgiveness for the deceased, supplicate for him, and give charity on his behalf.

As for the statement, "for he is responsible for his religion concerning what is between him and Allah Almighty exclusively, not people," it means that the deceased is accountable for the rights of Allah, such as prayer and fasting, but not for the rights of people. The statement, "that is his preoccupation with what he is in," means that he is preoccupied with the state he is in. The affairs of the deceased are among the unseen matters, regarding which reliance is permissible only upon revelation.
