What do you do about female visits that include gossip, immodest dress, and shisha, which you find distressing, given your desire not to sever ties of kinship?

You have done well by abandoning gatherings of disobedience. Do not sit with your relatives while they are engaged in disobedience, unless you condemn their actions. If they do not respond [to your condemnation], then it becomes obligatory to separate from them. Sitting with them during acts of disobedience is not the only way to maintain ties with them. You can maintain ties with them through ways that do not displease Allah. And the talk of people will not harm you, as long as you please your Lord.
