Should the husband say the supplication aloud or silently when taking his wife's forelock upon consummating the marriage?

The default for supplications (Du'a) and remembrances (Dhikr) is to recite them silently, based on the Almighty's saying: "Call upon your Lord humbly and privately; indeed, He does not like transgressors" (Quran 7:55), and His (peace be upon him) saying: "O people, be easy on yourselves, for you are not calling upon one who is deaf or absent, but rather upon one who is All-Hearing, All-Seeing." Many scholars have stipulated the desirability of reciting supplications and remembrances silently, unless there is a need for teaching or a textual evidence for reciting them aloud.
