It is permissible for a laboratory to transfer analyses to a second laboratory with the patient's knowledge and consent, or if the patient did not specify a particular laboratory and there is no difference in the analysis between the two laboratories. However, if the patient stipulated a specific laboratory, or if their situation implied it, or if the analysis differs from one laboratory to another, then it is not permissible to transfer without their knowledge. In the case of permissibility, it is permissible to agree with the other laboratory on a lower fee and profit from the difference, provided there is honesty and accuracy in choosing the alternative laboratory.
