What is the ruling on visiting Buddhist and Hindu temples for tourism and to learn about them, knowing that some of them require a symbolic fee or the removal of shoes, and there are worshippers inside?

Some scholars have disliked entering churches of Christians, Buddhist temples, and the like, due to their containing images, and because entering them implies their veneration and glorification, and because they are gatherings for devils. Therefore, it is not befitting for a Muslim to enter them.
