What should I do during family visits when I see my female relatives wearing tight pants that define the 'awrah, especially after the spread of a fatwa permitting it, knowing that I fear for my young daughters being influenced by this attire? And is my discomfort and distress in this situation considered misbehavior on my part?

It is impermissible for men or women to wear tight trousers because they delineate the 'awrah (private parts) and cause temptation. As for tight, transparent, and short clothing, it is specific to a woman in front of her husband and her un-discerning children. It is forbidden in front of other women, mahrams (unmarriageable kin), and foreign men. If the gathering includes those who wear tight or short clothing, then one must denounce the reprehensible act with the hand or the tongue. If that is not possible, then with the heart, while leaving the place, unless there is an overriding legitimate interest in staying, such as striving for their guidance, while shortening the duration of stay. One must seek Allah's help by supplicating for them, being gentle in denouncing, and presenting legitimate arguments, while being careful not to bring daughters to such gatherings unless the impermissibility of these actions is clarified.
