The answer

The Shariah has set limits for the relationship between a man and a non-mahram woman, in order to preserve honor and protect society, and has forbidden every way of enjoying a woman except through marriage. Allah Almighty says: (And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way) [Al-Isra: 32]. The unlawful sexual intercourse (zina) that necessitates the legal punishment (hadd) is the penetration of a man’s private part into the private part of a woman who is not lawful to him. Anything less than that is a great sin, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) called it zina. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Allah has decreed for every son of Adam his share of zina, which he will inevitably attain. The zina of the eyes is looking, the zina of the ears is listening, the zina of the tongue is speaking, the zina of the hand is touching/striking, the zina of the leg is walking, and the heart desires and wishes, and the private part confirms or denies that." (Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

The questioner must hasten to repent to Allah by abandoning the sin, regretting it, and making a sincere resolve not to return to it, while avoiding its مقدمات (preliminaries) and causes. She should adhere to the hijab, embody modesty, avoid mixing with men, lower her gaze, avoid watching what angers Allah, avoid bad companions, seek Allah's help, increase in righteous deeds, and strengthen her connection with Allah. It is obligatory to conceal the sin and not to publicize it, for the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "All of my Ummah will be forgiven except those who publicize their sins." (Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

As for pregnancy, it can occur if the man ejaculates and his fluid reaches the woman's womb, even if penetration did not happen.
