What is the preponderant opinion regarding the grade of the hadith: "Cure your sick ones with charity," and is it fabricated, weak, or good (hasan), especially given Al-Albani's differing rulings on it?

Al-Albani considered the phrase "Cure your sick with charity" to be good (hasan) based on Abu Dawud's narration in Al-Marasil from Al-Hasan, and its corroboration by Abu Al-Shaykh's narration from Abu Umamah. He, however, deemed other narrations containing the phrase to be weak due to their flawed chains of transmission. Many scholars have used this hadith to encourage giving charity on behalf of the sick, such as Ibn Al-Hajj and Ibn Muflih. The hadith is supported by other Islamic proofs concerning the warding off of calamities through charity, such as the solar eclipse hadith: "If you see that, then supplicate to Allah, glorify Him, pray, and give charity." And Ibn Daqiq Al-Eid's statement: "And in the hadith is evidence for the desirability of giving charity during times of fear to ward off dreaded calamities."
