The answer

A Muslim does not become an unbeliever by committing an act of disbelief while being unaware; therefore, a specific ignorant individual is not declared an unbeliever until the prophetic proof (al-hujjah ar-risaliyyah) is established against him, by which his opposition to the messengers becomes clear. Thus, an act or a statement might be disbelief, but a specific individual is not judged to be an unbeliever until the proof is established against him.
