The questioner must repent from the work that involved mixing, touching, bumping, laughing, and jesting with men, because it is a transgression of God’s boundaries. Istikhara (seeking guidance from God) is not to be performed for forbidden acts, but rather for permissible and recommended ones. Therefore, the questioner should not regret leaving this forbidden work; rather, she should rejoice in it.
