What is the ruling regarding the prayer and recitation of the Qur’an for a person who experienced nocturnal emissions but did not perform ghusl at the beginning of his puberty due to his ignorance that the fluid discharged was semen, and what is incumbent upon him in this case?

If a person reaches puberty by one of its signs, the rulings applicable to accountable individuals apply to him, including performing ghusl (ritual bath) after janabah (state of ritual impurity). So, whoever experiences a wet dream and semen is discharged, and he does not perform ghusl out of ignorance, then prays, he has committed forbidden acts and neglected a condition for prayer.

He must repent to Allah for his negligence in learning, if he was capable of doing so. As for making up the prayers, the majority of scholars have mandated making them up, and this is the fatwa we adhere to, even if he was ignorant of the obligation of ghusl. He must make up all the prayers he missed without performing ghusl, and if he cannot ascertain their number, he must continue making them up until he is reasonably certain that he has fulfilled his obligation.
