Must I make up the prayers, reading of the Qur'an, and fasting that occurred during a period of ignorance concerning the ruling on الاحتلام (wet dreams), or is there no making up for them due to ignorance?
Nocturnal emission is the discharge of semen during sleep. If one experiences nocturnal emission and finds semen, (ritual bath) becomes obligatory. If you do not see semen after nocturnal emission, or if you are uncertain, then ghusl is not obligatory upon you. However, if you are certain of the discharge of semen after nocturnal emission, then ghusl is obligatory upon you, and you must make up the prayers you performed before performing ghusl from (state of ritual impurity). You should make them up until you are reasonably certain that you have fulfilled your obligation. This is the ruling of the majority of scholars that is adopted for . As for fasting, janabah does not invalidate it, and the fast of one who experiences nocturnal emission during the day is valid. Reciting the Quran is not permissible for one in a state of janabah, but you are not sinful if you were excused due to ignorance.
