It is permissible for a father to compel his virgin, pre-pubescent daughter to marry. However, it is not permissible to compel a virgin who has reached puberty or a non-virgin (previously married woman). If a woman is compelled, she has the right to seek the annulment of the marriage from the judge, based on the hadith: "A woman who has been previously married has more right over herself than her guardian, and a virgin should be consulted regarding herself." If the woman knows her right to annulment but does not pursue it, or if the husband has consummated the marriage and they have had children, then she is not permitted to seek annulment. It is advised not to pursue annulment, prioritizing the best interest of the daughters.
