How does one honor oneself and others?

A person's self-respect is achieved through sound faith in Allah, knowing what Allah has made obligatory upon him in terms of knowledge and action, asking Allah for success and sincerity, gathering provisions for the Hereafter, and ensuring that he follows the straight path. As for honoring others, it is by offering advice, guiding them to goodness, refraining from harming them, supplicating for them, cooperating in righteousness and piety, and loving for them what he loves for himself and disliking for them what he dislikes for himself.
