Is a deceased person forgiven who committed adultery before his death, then repented in his last days by reading the Qur'an, maintaining prayer, and intending to marry?

Adultery is one of the major sins for which Allah has threatened its perpetrator with a prescribed punishment (hadd) in this world and a painful torment in the Hereafter. However, whoever repents with sincere repentance, Allah accepts his repentance and replaces his evil deeds with good ones. Repentance from adultery is not merely by praying, reciting the Quran, and intending to marry; rather, it requires abandoning the sin and regretting it. A Muslim should hasten to repent from all sins, especially major ones, and not procrastinate, for fear that death may overtake him before he purifies himself.
