What is the authenticity and explanation of the hadith: "Whoever washes and is washed, then comes early and is early, and walks and does not ride"?

This Hadith (definition) was narrated by Abu Dawud, Al-Tirmidhi, Al-Nasa'i, and Ibn Majah from the Hadith of Aws ibn Aws. Al-Albani judged it to be authentic (sahih (definition)), and Al-Arna'ut judged its chain of narration to be authentic (sahih). Its meaning is: "Whoever washed" means: washed his head or had intercourse with his wife, thus making ghusl (definition) obligatory upon her, and "then bathed" means: washed his entire body, or it is a repetition for emphasis. And "went early" means: went at the beginning of the time, and "arrived early" means: caught the beginning of the sermon. Abu Dawud and others added: "and walked and did not ride, and drew near to the Imam, and listened and remained silent," for him there was "for every step the reward of a year's worth of fasting and prayer."
