Is it permissible for someone who has completed reciting the Holy Quran to chant and intone?

If songs and chants include anything prohibited, such as incitement to debauchery or descriptions of women's charms and the like, or if they are accompanied by musical instruments and entertainment tools (other than the tambourine/daf), then they are forbidden, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "There will be among my Ummah people who will legalize illicit sexual relations, silk, alcoholic drinks, and musical instruments." However, if they are free from forbidden words and meanings, and are not accompanied by anything prohibited such as musical instruments or mixing [of genders], then the majority of scholars have permitted them, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) allowance for them on Eid, as in the Hadith (definition) of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): "Leave them, for these are days of Eid." The reciter of the Quran is like all other people in this ruling; if he adheres to the Sharia (definition)'s guidelines in his singing and chanting, then it is permissible for him; otherwise, it is not.
