Is it permissible to accept stolen money that the indebted brother returned to his brother?

It is not permissible to accept stolen money, neither for settling a debt nor for any other purpose. Whoever knows that money is stolen must avoid it. If the questioner knows the owner of the stolen money, he should return it to him. Otherwise, he should return it to his brother, advising him to repent and return the money to its owner. In both cases, the debt remains an obligation upon his brother.
