Is it permissible to collectively recite the Quran in a graveyard?

Reading the Quran in a graveyard was not done by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, nor by his Rightly Guided Caliphs. Goodness lies in following those who came before, and evil lies in the innovations of those who came after. What is prescribed when visiting graves is to greet their inhabitants and supplicate for them.
