What is the ruling on taking an interest-based loan to finance the purchase of machinery for a factory that has ceased operations, when there is land available that could be sold to cover the loan, and do necessities permit prohibitions in this case?

The Qur'an, Sunnah, and the consensus of scholars indicate the prohibition of borrowing with usury (riba). It is not permissible except in cases of dire necessity that would lead a person to ruin, or unbearable hardship, or failure to secure the minimum standard of living. Necessity is determined by its extent. What has been mentioned does not reach the level of necessity that would permit usury. Therefore, the impermissibility of this must be explained to the father, and efforts should be made to secure the money through permissible means, such as selling the land. Whoever abandons something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better, as Allah Almighty says: "Allah destroys interest and gives increase for charities" and "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out and will provide for him from where he does not expect."
