Is it permissible to take out an agricultural loan with interest to meet essential needs and care for the land, with the intention of repaying it and ceasing to deal with it as soon as circumstances improve?
Allah has forbidden usury and threatened those who engage in it with His war. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, counted it among the seven destructive sins. Its prohibition is a known necessity of the religion and is not permissible except for someone in extreme necessity, such as fear of perishing or facing extreme hardship. If the necessity reaches this level and no other solution is available, it is permissible to take a usurious loan only to the extent of the necessity, based on Allah's saying: "And He has already explained to you what He has forbidden to you, except for that to which you are compelled," with the condition of not exceeding that limit.
