What is the ruling on taking an interest-based loan when there are many debts and no sustenance for the household?

Usury is one of the major sins and is not permissible except in cases of dire necessity that would lead to the perishing of the compelled person or their near perishing. Therefore, it is not permissible to finance a project with usury. Rather, seek out halal sources of funding, for what is halal is blessed, while much with usury is devoid of blessing, in accordance with the Almighty’s saying: "Allah destroys usury and gives increase for charities." And remember, "And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect." And whoever abandons something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better.
