The verse speaks of Allah's pleasure with the believers who pledged allegiance to the Prophet under the tree (the Pledge of Allegiance at al-Hudaybiyyah), where they pledged to fight Quraish and not flee. This tree was of the Samur type, and the Companions differed about its location after it disappeared during the era of Umar ibn al-Khattab.
