What is the ruling on transporting the deceased to the cemetery by car?

It is best to carry the Janāzah (bier) on the shoulders so that people may know about it, supplicate for the deceased, and take admonition. However, if there is an excuse such as a distant graveyard, extreme heat or cold, or a small number of mourners, then there is no harm in transporting it by car.
