Does a divorce take place if a couple agrees that the wife will be divorced if the husband does not lower his gaze from women out of lust, and then the husband sees an inappropriate scene, claiming he forgot the agreement?

Lowering the gaze is an obligation upon the husband according to Islamic law, based on the Almighty's saying: "Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their private parts," and the hadith of Jarir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about a sudden glance, and he commanded him to avert his gaze.

If the agreement to lower the gaze was made before marriage, then breaking it does not result in divorce. Similarly, threatening with divorce does not cause it to occur. A woman's jealousy over her husband is permissible within reasonable limits, but holding the husband accountable and being jealous over every minor and major detail is unacceptable.
