What is the ruling on shunning one who hates, or is arrogant, or ignores, or backbites for more than three days? And what is the ruling on being arrogant towards the arrogant? And how should one deal with someone who backbites and is deceitful in speech?

The basic principle is that it is not permissible for a Muslim to abandon his brother for more than three nights. Some scholars have considered this among the major sins. However, abandonment is permissible if it leads to harm or has a negative impact on one's religion or self. Abandonment ceases with a greeting (salam), and it is sufficient to limit oneself to that with someone who has caused you distress. As for arrogance, it is blameworthy, but it is wise not to be humble towards an arrogant person so that their defiance does not increase. We recommend seeking refuge in Allah from the evil of those whose harm is feared, repelling evil with good deeds, and overlooking some matters for peace of mind.
