Is the general understanding and inference of the noble verse: ﴿Whomsoever Allah leads astray, there is no guide for him; and He leaves them to wander blindly in their transgression﴾, and the verse: ﴿While Allah created you and what you do﴾, correct in that man chooses by his own will the path of guidance or misguidance, and Allah knows what his choice will lead to, so He guides whoever chooses success and leads astray whoever chooses falsehood after the truth has been made clear to him, then seals his heart and leaves him in his misguidance? And does this meaning apply to similar verses such as: ﴿Whomsoever Allah guides is the [rightly] guided; and whomsoever He sends astray - it is those who are the losers﴾?

Allah Almighty punishes the servant after the proof has been established against them, as stated in His saying: "And Allah would not let a people stray after He had guided them until He makes clear to them what they should avoid. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of all things." (Quran 9:115). Indeed, Allah Almighty does not lead His servants astray except due to their deviation, an example of which is His saying: "So when they deviated, Allah caused their hearts to deviate." (Quran 61:5). As for the servant's will and desire, they follow Allah's will and desire, as in His saying: "And you do not will except that Allah wills. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Wise." (Quran 76:30).

Allah Almighty has absolved Himself of injustice. His leading astray whomever He wills or decreeing disobedience upon whomever He wills is pure justice from Him, because He places misguidance in its rightful place. Allah has clarified the paths, sent messengers, revealed books, and enabled His servants with the means of guidance, and this is His justice. As for granting success to whomever He wills, that is His grace. And as for forsaking those who are not worthy of His success and not willing guidance for them initially, it is because Allah knows that they will not appreciate the blessing of guidance and will not be thankful for it. An example of this is His saying: "Had Allah known any good in them, He would have made them hear." (Quran 8:23). So, if Allah Almighty decrees misguidance and disobedience for some souls, that is pure justice.
