How can one overcome the feeling of lack of provision (rizq) at work, and what should a person do when they see their female colleagues more blessed with provision, while fearing envy or being afflicted with worry and sadness? Are there specific acts or supplications (duas) for seeking blessings and provision?
The greatest bringer of sustenance is obedience to Allah and Taqwa (piety), while sins diminish its blessing. Allah (the Most High) says: (And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect). Therefore, you must adhere to the fear of Allah, be constant in His obedience, perform the obligatory duties, increase in supererogatory acts, and supplicate persistently for good sustenance.
You are not obligated to earn a living, as financial support is incumbent upon whoever is responsible for your care, and you will not be blamed if you stop working. If you decide to earn a living, put your trust in Allah and have faith in His bounty, and know that your destined sustenance will not be taken by anyone else. Be content with what Allah has apportioned for you and look at those who are below you, and do not look at what others possess; for sustenance is predetermined.
