Sheep pens are their shelters, resting places, and all their enclosures. Camel resting places (a‘ṭān al-ibil) are the spots where camels gather to drink, whether they or others. The meaning of them being created from devils is due to the aversion and wildness in them, which might invalidate the worshipper's prayer. Arabs call every rebellious entity a devil. The majority of scholars dislike praying in camel resting places, though the prayer is valid, while the Hanbalis consider it forbidden and invalid.
