What is the wisdom and benefit of a man marrying a girl who has not yet reached puberty, knowing that it is impermissible to consummate the marriage until she reaches puberty, as stated in Surat Al-Talaq?

The majority of scholars hold that the marriage of a minor before puberty is valid, citing the Almighty's words: "And those of your women who have despaired of menstruation – if you have doubts, then their waiting period is three months, and [for] those who have not menstruated" (At-Talaq/4). She has no option to annul the marriage upon reaching puberty. It is stipulated that this marriage must be arranged by the father only, for the benefit of the minor, not for the father's benefit. She is not handed over to her husband until she is fit for intercourse, and puberty is not a condition for intercourse.

The father should fear Allah and consider his daughter's best interest in her marriage. These interests may include protecting her in times of tribulation or her need for financial support. Among the conditions for the father to validly marry off his daughter are: there should be no manifest enmity between her and him, or between her and the husband; he should not marry her to someone who would cause her clear harm; and he should marry her to a suitable partner who is not financially distressed regarding her dowry.
