Is it better to buy and slaughter a sheep and distribute it to the poor and relatives with the intention of [acquiring] a new car, or to distribute money to the poor?

You are not obligated to offer a sacrifice or give charity, but if you wish to do so out of joy and gratitude to Allah, there is no harm in it. What is more preferable is to choose that which is most beneficial to the poor.
