It is permissible for a man to marry a second wife if he possesses the financial and physical capability, and the ability to act justly between his wives. A wife informing her friend about her husband's intention to marry a second wife is considered a disclosure of a secret if the husband intended for no one to know about it. Disclosing a secret is forbidden if it results in harm, such as preventing the husband from a permissible polygamous marriage. There is no sin upon the wife if she was ignorant of the impermissibility of what she did, because this is a matter for which ignorance is excused due to the obscurity of its ruling.
