Is it permissible to perform the Maghrib and 'Isha prayers in congregation, knowing that the time for the 'Isha prayer has arrived, and some have not yet prayed Maghrib?

Prayer holds a great status in Islam; it is the second pillar, and negligence towards it carries a severe warning. It must be maintained and performed at its legally prescribed time. Prayer has two times: an elective time, which is the original, and a necessary time, during which performance is permitted for those with excuses before the time definitively expires. It is not permissible to neglect prayer by delaying it beyond its necessary time or by continuing an activity that leads to such a delay. Whoever fears Allah, He will make a way out for him and provide for him from where he does not expect. What is with Allah can only be attained through obedience to Him. If two congregations are present, one for Maghrib and the other for Isha, it is preferable for the Maghrib congregation to precede, and then everyone prays Isha in congregation. It is best to pray with a single Imam to maintain unity, but if you pray in two congregations, the prayer of all is valid, even if you have deviated from the better option.
