Is it permissible for a blind and disabled Muslim woman, who requires continuous care, to acquire a trained dog to assist her at home and outdoors, given the unavailability of alternative care, despite the prohibition of having a dog in the house?

The original ruling on keeping dogs is that it is forbidden. However, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, permitted keeping them for guarding crops, livestock, or for hunting. Scholars have agreed on the permissibility of keeping a dog to guard homes, ward off harm, and for all beneficial purposes if a person needs it, by analogy with the three aforementioned cases. Thus, benefit and necessity are the reasons for permissibility. Therefore, it is permissible for a woman to keep a trained dog if she cannot find anyone to serve, care for, and guard her until Allah makes a way out for her.
