What is the reason for preferring white over black in verse 106 of Surat Al-Imran, where whiteness symbolizes good and blackness symbolizes evil?

The reason for faces turning white and black on the Day of Judgment is the joy and delight that befall the believers due to what Allah has bestowed upon them, and the depression and sorrow that befall the disbelievers and innovators due to the loss of their endeavors. Joy appears on the face with radiance and illumination, while sorrow manifests itself with blackness and grimness, as mentioned in the noble verses. This has no relation to people's skin colors in this world, for superiority is based on faith and piety.
