What is the ruling on watching someone commit a sin, such as "joyriding" (tafheet), and encouraging them to do so?

"Tafheet" (car drifting/hooniganism) is forbidden if it exposes oneself and property to destruction, as Allah Almighty says: "And do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction." It is not permissible for a Muslim to participate with or watch those who engage in this act in a way that encourages or approves it, because Allah has forbidden watching disobedient people and sitting with them while they commit their sins. Allah Almighty says: "And He has already revealed to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah disbelieved in and mocked at, then do not sit with them until they enter into another conversation. Indeed, if you did, you would then be like them." And His saying: "And when you see those who engage in [offensive] discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they enter into another conversation. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the recollection with the wrongdoing people." Therefore, it is not permissible to sit with, encourage, or approve of anyone who disobeys Allah's command in their disobedience.
