What are the rights and status of women in Islam (single or married), and why do women adorn themselves and believe there is no fault in that, and why is the response when advised, "Faith is in the heart, I do not harm anyone"?

Following whims and yielding to Satan's seduction are the reasons behind a woman's immodest display (tabarruj). Faith resides in the heart, and actions are its proof. Just as a sound heart leads to the soundness of the limbs, so too does faith in the heart manifest in the actions of the limbs. We judge by what is apparent, and we do not accept invalid excuses.
