What is the ruling on vowing to fast three days if one returns to practicing masturbation, and is the vow repeated with repeated returns to it?

This vow is called a vow of obstinacy and anger, and its ruling is the same as that of an oath. The one who made the vow has the choice between fulfilling it or atoning for it with an expiation for an oath. If your intention was for the vow to be repeated with the repetition of the action, then you must fast three days or offer an expiation for an oath for each time. If you did not intend repetition, then you must offer only one expiation. The expiation for an oath is feeding ten needy persons, or clothing them, or freeing a slave. If you are unable to do any of these, then fast three days.
