Is it permissible to delay returning a trust (a sum of money) to a female relative who causes harm, in order to prevent her harm and reduce her mischief until the shared house is sold or divided?

The trust must be returned to its owner, because betrayal is absolutely forbidden. It is not permissible to withhold the trust from this woman under the pretext of minimizing her harm. Rather, what was entrusted to you must be handed over without delay, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Return the trust to the one who entrusted you, and do not betray the one who betrays you."
