Does one receive a reward for the expense of construction?

Every building is a burden upon its owner, except for what is indispensable. A man is rewarded for all his expenses except for the soil (building). The intent of these two statements is to divert a Muslim from focusing on construction and erecting buildings beyond his need, and need varies with the family. So, every building exceeding the need is a burden, yet not everything exceeding the need necessitates sin. Indeed, some buildings can earn reward if others besides the builder benefit from them.
